Mysterious Colony
A great deal of interest is being aroused in the Canton of St. Gall as the time appoaches for the arrival of a rich American colony whose agents have been recently buying the choicest plots of land in the village of Amden, which commands a magnificent view of the mountains, and has the little lake of Wallenstadt at its foot.
A mystery hangs around the identity of the Americans, whose agents, though they are paying well for everything, refuse to say for whom they are buying. A number of beautiful villas have been erected, while others are still ill the hands of workmen.
